Bluetooth sound is late or crackly
Why headphones add a small delay, and how to clean up crackles.
What it is
Bluetooth headphones add a short delay. In Music quality it’s usually a quarter to half a second. Crackles are often distance or interference.
When to use it
Try these if sound is late or breaks up.
How to do it
-
A small delay in Music quality is normal. If you need less delay, try Hands-free in You › Bluetooth audio. It sounds more like a phone call.
-
Keep your phone on the same side of your body as the headphones. Bodies and metal shelving block Bluetooth.
-
Turn off other Bluetooth devices you aren’t using.
-
Lower Volume boost for Bluetooth if it’s very high.
-
Turn the headphones off and on, or reconnect them.
