What you need for Radio Bridge (beta)

A radio with a speaker/mic jack, a USB radio interface, and a small computer to run the gateway.

What it is

Radio Bridge (beta) needs a little hardware next to one of your radios, plus the free KeyUp radio gateway program. Everything else runs in KeyUp.

When to use it

Check this list before you set up the gateway.

How to do it

  1. A two-way radio with a speaker/mic accessory jack, that you’re licensed to use on its channels.

  2. A USB radio interface, such as an AIOC (All-In-One-Cable, about $20 to $35) or a Digirig style interface (about $55 to $85 with cable). It must match your radio’s jack. It also keys the radio (presses its talk button): CM108 style for the AIOC, or serial RTS/DTR for the Digirig.

  3. A computer that can stay next to the radio: a Raspberry Pi 4 or any Windows PC.

  4. Python 3 and the KeyUp radio gateway program on that computer. During beta, email support@keyupradio.com and we’ll send it with instructions.

  5. An internet connection for that computer, over Wi-Fi or a network cable.

  6. A KeyUp Crew or Business Space with Radio Bridge turned on. During beta it’s free: the Space owner can email support@keyupradio.com to ask us to turn it on.
